Marquise Home Design By Ar. FGMF !!!

D Pos - The program for Marquise House was relatively large, though common. The terrain is fairly broad, with about 700sqm, but has specific district legislation, which required major setbacks, which greatly reduces the uplifting area.

The fundamental need of customers was, however, order the program’s organization and not dimensions. After several interviews, we realized that the biggest issue for the coming years of use of the house was the creation of spaces that promote the union of the family; the house as physical realization of meeting the children and grandchildren, official event location of a family that is growing and naturally dividing over time, in new smaller families.

By realizing this fundamental question, we understand that our responsibility was the implementation of a coherent space with our architecture, but it meant users a reference site very intimate, a base where all members return whenever possible, a kind of materialization of the nuclear family.

With this in mind we think of qualities that seemed essential for us to have success in our endeavor: Integration between the spaces, privacy from the street and neighbors, flexible spaces and glazing for various needs in events, leisure and center of the space, and garden protagonist.

When we transport it to the site in question, we face an even bigger problem – the terrain with slope at about 30%, led us to separate the social and leisure program at different levels, which would against the desired integration.

To solve the issue of tilt versus integration we reverse the logic of the traditional São Paulo townhouse on implanting the intimate block at the lowest point of the land and we use it as a restraint to create a plateau where other activities are organized.

The intimate volume was working as a cement monolith with precise cutouts, reinforcing its robust character and restrained, and their openings are open to the general mandatory retreat fund, which became a kind of intimate garden, allowing for privacy and quiet when desired. This volume is a contrast to what we imagine of lightness to the ground floor, which was designed in metallic structure with a large awning covering glazed spaces, balconies and services.

The sunroom occupies the land boundaries and set up a central void, where the built environment converge, as a Mexican central courtyard in a contemporary approach. At this level of building spaces are extremely interconnected visually stimulating coexistence. Existing fences here are minimal and basically glass and woody coating services and leisure facilities.

The main residence access at street level with garage discovery, is located above the deployment share. This solution causes some awkwardness on the promenade, as you can only see the roof of the house. This solution, however, came against the desire of customers to have a very integrated to the garden house, but with the protected intimacy of public space.

The interior design should promote the concerns that architecture had from the first moment. light and contemporary furnishings, a fireplace that does not touch the floor, cement floor in the same material as the monolith of the intimate block, hydraulic tiles panel specially made for this work, work together with the architecture to strengthen the patio and the garden are a kind of frame so that family life plays out over the years in a generous and full of possibilities space.
